Prince Edward Island's first name is Epekwitk. The land on which Glenaladale Estate is set and where Islanders live and gather is unceded Mi’kmaq territory, covered by the historic Treaties of Peace and Friendship. We pay our respects to the Indigenous Mi’kmaq People who have occupied this Island for over 12,000 years; past, present and future. Those wishing to help address past and present imbalances between Mi’kmaq and non-Indigenous people on Epekwitk (PEI) can find more information at L’nuey’s site.
